ROB GARRETT’S “KING OF DIAMONDS” Vegas residency show CONTINUES ON in the “MODERN SHOWROOMS” at ALEXIS PARK HOTEL.
Neil Diamond is one of the most successful and beloved singer/songwriters in rock and pop music history.
Besides being one of the top-selling and record-breaking touring artists ever, he’s also created and performed the soundtrack of our lives — including some of the most famous songs on the planet.
In early 2018, shortly before his 77th year, Neil Diamond announced his retirement from performing after being affected by Parkinson’s.
However, Diamond’s on-stage legacy continues to be kept alive for audiences across the globe through tribute artist Rob Garrett, often called “the best of the best”.
Ask Siri “who is America’s number one Neil Diamond tribute artist,” and you’ll hear the same name.
Like his idol, Rob Garrett was a Brooklyn, New York native.
In May 1974, his parents brought him from New York City to Las Vegas, where, two years later, he witnessed his first Neil Diamond concert when Diamond made his attendance-breaking Las Vegas debut at the Aladdin Hotel’s “Theater for the Performing Arts” in July 1976.
Garrett went on to see him another 16 times across the country—right up until Diamond’s last American show at the LA Forum on August 12, 2017.
In 1980, Garrett created his own band, “Rock n Roll Heaven,” and enjoyed a long and successful run in Las Vegas and across the nation before transitioning from cover band frontman to a tribute artist dedicated to one of his boyhood inspirations.
In 1995, Garrett was personally hired by the legendary Paul Revere to portray Neil Diamond in the “Legends in Concert” show in Honolulu, Hawaii.
What was meant to be a short engagement turned into a three-year success.
By August 1998, Garrett returned home to Las Vegas and continued to perform with “Legends” for another couple of years before deciding to create his own Neil Diamond tribute show Las Vegas reviews 2025 tribute production.
He began a nationwide performance schedule, building a devoted fan base along the way—earning the title “King of Diamonds Las Vegas.”
He continues to sell out theaters nationwide, often in venues reserved for national acts.
Garrett has also received multiple accolades, including “Male Tribute Artist of the Year.”
“Since he (Diamond) announced his retirement, I’ve felt a strong sense of responsibility to keep his legacy alive for future generations. It’s something I never get tired of doing,” he said.
On May 19, 2025 officially proclaimed the date “Rob Garrett Day,” commemorating his 50 years living in Las Vegas and 44 years as a professional Vegas performer.
Now in the year 2025, Garrett celebrates 45 years as an active Las Vegas entertainer, with the last 30 years devoted solely to paying tribute to the now-retired Neil Diamond.
It has been said that no other tribute artist is so closely identified with the original performer as Garrett, who has played in more Vegas rooms than any peer.
Since the June closing of “A Beautiful Noise” (the Broadway jukebox musical based on Diamond’s life story), Rob Garrett’s “King of Diamonds” show has become the only active Neil Diamond tribute production in America.
Alexis Park Hotel Las Vegas is located at 375 E. Harmon Ave., about a quarter mile from Paradise Road.
